2023 Harvest Wrap Up

  

As all primary producers know one cannot count the chickens, but this year was certainly a case of counting our blessings.

It became apparent as the season neared to a close that the yields would be down, but the quality looked good. The big variable was the weather...cool and drizzly with intermittent sunny days which made it a roll of the dice regarding picking. We managed to get over the line with baume’, acidity and flavours and a much later than usual pick. We were grateful for the locality of the vineyard.  Other areas in the hills and in the south of the state were struggling to ripen the crops.

The wine makers initial reports were very encouraging and so we look forward to the outcome of 2023 especially the flavours of the Chenin Blanc and Grenache. We are proud to again supply other boutique wineries with our Blewitt Springs fruit —Aphelion, Varney and Dandelion who all produce amazing products in their own fun way.

We enjoyed picking events with family and friends, soaking up the traditions in mild conditions.
